Lift Mounted Bearing Radius Turning Plates

Our lift mounted radius turning plates are a set of heavy duty steel rotating plates that fit to the Boston range of four post lifts or can be recess mounted to inspection pits. They are used to assist the operator when manually turning the steered wheels during vehicle testing.

Each plate contains a set of steel bearings which are fixed in place by a hard-wearing nylon ball-race. The rotating plates are in turn fitted over the steel bearings and fastened to the sliding base plate. The operator simply positions the rotating plates underneath the steered axle of a vehicle and lowers the wheels onto the plates. The low friction between the two plates allows the operator to easily turn the steered wheels from side to side by hand. When not in use, there is a locking pin to fix the plates in position.

The plates can slide laterally in both directions using hard-wearing nylon guides preventing any metal-on-metal contact between the plates and the lift / pit surface. This novel feature avoids scratched surfaces and prevents any rust from forming.

Recessed installation cartridges are also available for use with inspection pits. See product BRTP-2-PIT.
